Q Is PALRO a care robot?

There is no accurate definition for the name “care robot.”
“Care support robot,” “care welfare robot,” etc. are also used as similar or synonymous words. At the moment, it will be interpreted in a variety of different ways depending on the person.
For this reason, the public interest incorporated association Kanagawa Welfare Service Organization even regards advanced equipment among welfare equipment and nursing-care equipment as “care robots,” and categorizes them into the following three types:
- Care support type: Robots that support care work, such as transferring patients, bathing, and toilet support
- Self-support type: Robots that provide that help receivers of care with self-support with to regard to walking, physiotherapy, meals, reading, etc.
- Communication security type: Robots that offer healing and watch over you
Under this categorization, PALRO belongs in “communication security type.”

Model number: PRT-B002JW

Q Does PALRO have any effects on electronic devices?

PALRO is a Voluntary Control Council for Interference by Information Technology Equipment (VCCI) Class A product. As it may cause radio interference to other electronic devices such as TVs and radios, please use it away from these devices. PALRO is only available to buy and use in Japan.

Q Does PALRO have any effects on medical devices such as pacemakers?

It may affect the operation of pacemakers. Use the PALRO main unit at least 22 cm away from any heart pacemakers.

Q Are there any precautions with regard to the battery?

Generally, even if it is unused, the battery pack will deteriorate if it is just left for more than three months. Charge the battery approximately once every three months.

Q How long is the charging time for PALRO?

It becomes fully charged in approximately three hours.

Q How long does PALRO’s battery last?

It will depend on the operation content, for example walking, conversation, and motion, but the maximum is approximately 1.5 hours.

Q Can you use PALRO outdoors?

You cannot use PALRO outdoors. Please only use it indoors.
